Seven years improving livability in Cape Verde

Solidarity Alliance for ending the draft liveability and sustainable development in the archipelago.


Cuts in cooperation have forced us to leave some of the projects that we have been working in recent years. A few weeks ago we announced our exit from Namibia and AngolaToday it is our turn to do it Cape VerdeWhere we have worked since 2007 to improve the living conditions of the local population.

More than seven years of work, dreams, projects and hopes shared where we built urban infrastructure and supported the strengthening of civil society in the islands of May and Santiago. We take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported all phases of this project for seven years. Without your support it would not have been possible.

Achievements in sustainable local development

All our interventions in the archipelago have been considered prior consultation of the environmental sustainability needs of each community. Among the achievements of the last seven years we can highlight:

  • The construction of a treatment plant wastewater and 381 bathrooms Calheta.
  • Rehabilitation 83 roofs of houses degraded.
  • Creating a Community Partner Center, three sources and three public places as neighborhood meeting places.
  • Street paving and construction of supporting walls.
  • Grant of 263 microloans for entrepreneurship.
  • Professional training in culinary and civil construction for unemployed youth / as.

The lack of support for public cooperation policies do we have to leave Cape Verde earlier than planned, but we still need your support to continue fighting for a local sustainable development in many countries.
