For the first time in the history of Mueda women join the feminist strike.
In the current agreement, Alliance for the Mozambique solidarity in partnership with the local women, law and development (MULEIDE) and the Government District of Mueda (GDM) and with the financial support of the Spanish Agency of international cooperation for development (AECID), now us We are preparing to celebrate March 8 with peasant women from various villages of Mueda where Alliance works.
To do this, we were recording in Mueda a video with women workers and entrepreneurs under the motto "as mulheres tambem podem fazer" -women can also - to encourage other women to start their own businesses, reaching decision-making positions and become economically independent.
The video features four empowered women, one of the first farmers in Mueda to receive the title of ownership of the land, a female owner of a local restaurant, a woman Director of a feminist organization and a technical woman of geography and cadastre by the Government of Mueda. Four experiences of four women who have struggled to get to have power and independence, serving as a source of inspiration and an example so other women know that they can also get it.
March 8 is going to make a March with more than 200 women to make visible access to ownership of land by women. Then, there will be an event where the inhabitants of Mueda enjoy reading poetry, regional dances and musical performance. All to claim the women's day and visualize the situation of women in the communities of Mueda.
We are prepared to go together to fight for the rights of women Mozambique in partnership by the Mozambique solidarity
