We are happy to celebrate our first 20 years in Colombia! 20 years working with communities, social organizations and public institutions - in particular of the Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño - to improve the living conditions of populations affected by the armed conflict and to build conditions for a lasting peace.

In all actions, have worked for the empowerment of women to ensure their active participation in the processes of transformation of their communities. Our work during these 20 years strategy has been to weave alliances with communities, social organizations and public institutions to work together in identifying and generating consensus and coordinated with the problems solutions of the population.

Our trip to Colombia has started in 1998 with a mission of identification and, in 1999, we started actions of humanitarian aidwith which we continue today. We focus on actions for the protection of women, young people and leaders, solutions for water and sanitation, food security and nutrition and family and community infrastructure.

In 2006, we gave our first focused steps to contribute to the development of populations affected by the armed conflict and from 2016 we have focused our efforts in supporting the construction of a lasting peace through the strengthening of social organizations, the promotion of mechanisms for social conflict resolution and transformation of violent cultural practices and support for economic initiatives for women and young people in areas of high involvement in the conflict.

It is very difficult to summarize all the learnings, the plethora of stories lived with all the people that we have walked during this time, the big and small achievements and also resounding setbacks which we have accumulated over the years. But we can say, with confidence and pride, that the greatest achievement at this time is to have the trust of communities and institutions in the areas where we have presence.

For this reason, we want that this celebration is a time to say thank you!

-communities for allowing us to be part of your processes

-public institutions for all the support that we provide

-agencies and funding for believing in our work

-our teams for their involvement, dedication and commitment

-Colombian and Spanish citizenship for your solidarity and your continued support.

And, after 20 years, we continue to believe and dreaming of a Colombia at peace, where observance of human rights is the basis for the development of their populations, where social justice prevails and where every Colombian has social, educational opportunities and economic to build their future.
