On June 7, at the Cultural Center the Corrala de Lavapies will organize a day by the end of the project "migrant women and human rights: exchanging, weaving networks and strengthening the exercise of their rights" have carried out with the support of the Ayuntamiento de Madrid.
This project has had as objectives to know what are the realities of migrant women in the city of Madrid, strengthen partnerships and spaces in which are organized through various workshops, as well as to make visible their actions and strategies for remove the prejudices that are built around them from the position that claim as political subjects.
Fundamental to the project has been the development of the participatory diagnosis in which 61 migrant women have participated and where you have been able to identify the different violence they face institutional, employment, racist violence, among others. Important it was also collected in this study the various proposals they same building to confront these obstacles and violence who live as migrant women.
On this day, that pretends to be a dialogue of experiences of different struggles of migrant and non-migrant women, we will count with the presence of Helena Maleno, presenting the Alliance report on the situation of migrant women in Morocco, Celia Medrano Director of programs of the Cristosal project that will address the situation of the displaced in the northern triangle of Central America and from Peru Victoria Villanueva women Director of Movimiento Manuela Ramos. Also we will accompany the colleagues who have participated in this project as Carolina Elias President of SEDOAC (domestic active duty), Danae García SOS Racism Madrid jurist and Deputy Rita Bosaho.
