Guinea Bissau

What do we want to change?

Guinea Bissau´s civil war between 1998 and 1999 destroyed the countries organization. The consequences of war and political instability are two of the main reasons that Guinea Bissau is under a program of economic structure. It also has an external debt of $ 921 million which hinders its full development.

This region is found in between: Senegal, Gambia and Guinea Bissae. The three areas are independent but share geographic and ethnic characteristics. They are is very poor, which affects the lives of the women.

How do we do it?

  • We give women access to the land in order to economically sustain themselves.
  • We promote sustainable agricultural and livestock production to combat food shortages.
  • We promote income generation through marketing of local crops.
  • We promote clean sustainable energy.
  • We encourage cross-border cooperation with Guinea Bissau and Senegal to ensure the sustainability of natural resources, eliminating traditional practices fleece forest resources.

Alliance team in Guinea Bissau
We are in Guinea Bissau

Alliance for solidarity developed in the region of Casamance (between Senegal, Gambia and Guinea Bissau) a project of ecological stoves that not only has improved the health of families, but cooking food faster and provides more autonomy for women. In addition, alarming deforestation in the area is being mitigated. Here we explain how an ecological kitchen can change your life.
